HEALTH Care Services

The Health of members is also a major concern of Our Coop. In the past we merely availed of the services of commercial health care companies. We thought that it was better for the Coop to handle this services directly. When this idea was floated to the Board, however, there was a heated debate because some maintained that relegating the matter to commercial health care services is still the best and more profitable arrangement for the Coop. In 1996, we organized the health care services for our members. Presently, we have 78, 291 members with Health Fund of Php P349M…

“A Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow”

The theme for our 43rd Anniversary is fitting for our today’s celebration. Time and again, we have repeatedly pronounced our humble beginnings as a backdrop to what the CFI Coop is now today.

At the beginning we had only P200.00 in asset. We campaigned hard to educate our members to save, save and save, because that is the primary purpose of a cooperative – to teach members how to save.

Now, the total savings of our members in terms of share capital is more than 1.2B and our total assets stand at 6.1B as of December 30, 2012. These figures are beyond our wildest imagination when we first started with our coop! Incredible it might seem but true!

The coop invested its savings in real estate properties and these properties now may be valued in hundreds of millions of pesos. One of these is a 4-hectare property in the Trans-Central area of Cebu City which can be transformed into a subdivision for members. Some of these real estate properties are the lands and buildings of our 13 branches located in several provinces in the Visayas and Mindanao. Hopefully, we will be opening new branches in Butuan, Dipolog and Pagadian in 2013.

In fine, our coop is strong and getting stronger every year in order that it may serve our members better. Truly we can say with pride; SALBAR KITA!
